  1. It's good to see Trevor will have someone to battle for second place. I'd hate for him to be bored.

I'd also just like to reiterate the following list of prospects in the Seattle organization, many of whom are too busy winning at the major league level to show up on a prospects list:

    3B Eugene Alustiza, 21 years old, 5*
    OF Armando Cedeno, 19, 5*
    OF Mohammed Stelly, 20, 5*
    IF George Labarre, 21, 5*
    C Alberto Granado, 18, 5*
    SS Carmelo Deleon, 23, 4.5*
    SP Isidro Frau, 23, 4.5*
    MR Merlin Bohon, 25, 4*
    SP Joseph Macaluso, 22, 3.5*
    CL Wesley Elton, 23, 3.5*
    MR Harry Johnson, 23, 3.5*
    SS Cristobel Santoyo, 25, 3*
    IF Bill Bivens, 22, 3*

P.S. Setting aside the blustering for a minute, that is a heck of a collection you've put together Zev. Some of the infielders in particular look really good to me.

  2. It's very lonely in Saskatoon's minor league system. OF Louis Ray and SP Brad Buckley are about the only halfway decent prospects left.

It'll be a miracle if I'm not in fourth or fifth place by 2014.

  3. Gotta admit. I'm generally happy with #1, #8, and #19. But Zev's put together some talent. Now all he has to do is develop it.

  4. Oh, and since we're braggin here's MY under 26 contingent:

    SP Villatoro, 22 5* #
    C Ward, 20 5*
    SS Hukill, 22 5* #
    1B Marzano, 22 4.5* (and next season's starter) #
    CF Suarez, 24 4* #
    SP Marez, 24 4* #
    MR Dull, 25 3.5* #
    LF Boothe, 22 3.5*
    RF Hudock, 23, 3* #
    1B Dolezal, 24 3*
    RF Murray, 21 3*
    MR Cabana, 25 3* #

'#' indicates either on the major league roster or expected to be opening day next year.

  5. Well, I did have #1, #4 and #10 before I promoted Giddings to the majors. And Rubio, at 25, is still a 4* prospect.
With Bilbrey, McGreevy and Placencia all 27, that's the core of my team for the future. I can't match Nate's depth though. Hopefully it's enough to keep me close to Nate for the next several years, and if things break right, I may catch him once or twice....

No offense, Michael, but you really don't worry me after this year. I'm annoyed I didn't quite beat you for second this year, but man, your team is OLD. Especially in the OF and your starters (not even your creative use of the amazing Junior Cuomo is gonna cover for that).

  6. I really don't expect to compete for the pennant next year. Most of my old players are leaving my team this year, or are signed to really cheap extensions.

But, I have nothing in the way of prospects. It's going to be fun rebuilding with a few good young major league players (Peppers, Jeon, Cuomo, Cowherd) and a bunch of nothing.

  7. Well, that is a heck of a foursome to build around, that's for sure.
