  1. You have to like the way Covington has really stepped it up down the stretch in pursuit of the #1 pick. They've pulled together as a team to play some solid losing baseball to edge ahead of Denver.

On the other hand, Danville's clearly trying to build momentum for next season with its eight game winning streak. Good for them.

It looks like there's only really one team locked into its draft position right now as, barring a miracle finish, South Bay is going to pick tenth (which really is the cruelest draft position, speaking from experience). Everyone else is in a battle for draft position as we come down to the final five games. In reverse order:

8 & 9. Brooklyn and Saskatoon are jostling for position. Saskatoon may catch Brooklyn in the standings and swap from the eighth pick to the ninth.

5, 6 & 7. Right now its Walla Walla, Danville, and New York. But, they're separated by one game each, so things could turn quickly.

3 & 4. Hickory and Houston are currently tied, and have been going back and forth for the lead for a couple of weeks now.

1 & 2. Covington's pulled ahead for the first pick, but has only a one game advantage on Denver.

  2. If there's anything we're good at, its losing. Bring it on, Denver!

  3. What I want is a league investigation into whatever robot Covington replaced Roy Hurlburt with for the stretch dive. He clearly is not possible of back-to-back shutouts and 20 innings of scoreless baseball.
