Amazing how quickly that changed. Adams League tied and Zotti with a 4 game lead on July 22. Now, bam, presto, 4 game lead in the Adams League and tied in the Zotti.
Guess you shouldn't start celebrating your all-time regular season record and near wire-to-wire championship just yet, huh?
Ow, Poor Diaz, Michael! 0ER and 5R allowed due to four errors!
And ARGH! 7/29/09 Danville vs River Cities. Suarez leads off with a double, Verdugo hits another double to drive him in. That's the only scoring for the game. Okane is pulled with 98 pitches after eight and Damato hits a double with two outs in the ninth preventing a perfect game!
It looks to me like South Bay was ahead by six games as late as the start of play on Friday, July 26 due to River Cities dropping a couple to New York. South Bay was still five games up on Monday, July 29.
Then, there was a six game losing streak including a three game sweep by the Paddle Boys, and all of a sudden it's all knotted up.
Meanwhile, the difference between Zev and I can be traced to a four game sweep from 7/21-24. I attribute that solely to the reconstituted Monarchs' pitching staff, which kept the Wolves at bay with just five runs over the four games. I love that pitching staff.
While I might not get the most wins in a season, it'll take at least one year of a 70-win or so "rebuilding" season before someone catches me with most wins all time.
And, of course, the Most Wins in October mark will remain mine for a few seasons to come.
Surely, based on the standings, that there is an error. Please correct and re-upload the league file ASAP.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your attention to this important matter.

Michael,
ReplyDeleteConsidering the fact that I went from being tied for first to four games back, I *wish* that there was an error.
Zev
