One More Sim To Go

Game Date: October 1, 2015.

In the Adams League, it's going to be Seattle as the champion and Saskatoon as the wild card. In the Zotti League, it'll be Cleveland and River Cities in the playoffs. Cleveland still holds a three game lead, but it is possible for the Sternwheelers to catch up.

Injuries:

Brooklyn starter Nelson Coghlan is probably going to miss the vast majority of the 2016 season with a ruptured tricep tendon.
River Cities has two players that may miss part or all of the playoffs -- SP Juan Villatoro (hyperextended elbow) and 2B Timothy Palacio (knee damaged in a collision).

River Cities SS John Hukill reached his 300th home run this sim.

Upcoming sim schedule:

Last sim of the season: Thursday night (2/4)
1st playoff game: Saturday night (2/6)
2nd playoff game: Tuesday night (2/9)
3rd playoff game: Thursday night (2/11)

After that TBD.

  1. Tough break Nate losing Villatoro and Palacio at this point of the season. I hope the cruel OOTP injury g-ds will not feel the need to even it out in the last sim of the season...

And a congratulations to all that made the playoffs, especially Eric in his first year in the league. It took me 4 or 5 seasons to reach that feat.

Good luck to everyone in the playoffs, more luck to some than others :)

  2. So on the eve of the playoffs, Nate loses TWO five star players?

We have GOT to change the injury settings in this league.

  4. I will pat myself on the back long enough to congratulate the Seattle Monarchs on another successful season. The mighty Monarchs have claimed their eighth consecutive division title and tenth overall (out of the last eleven years). 2015 also makes it nine consecutive seasons of at least 100 wins.

Regardless of the outcome of the playoffs, 2015 has been a successful campaign. In 2016, the Monarchs look forward to franchise first baseman Greg Mudge becoming the all-time home run champion and the first man to hit 400 home runs in his SDMB OOTP career.

  5. I guess while we are patting on the back, I should do the same. From a franchise in 2011 that needed to have players created for it because it was so bad (averages somewhere around 45 wins a season) to it's second consecutive playoff appearance, and first division title (unless I lose all 4 remaining games and Nate wins all of his) and a chance to win 100 games, who would have thought that in just four seasons. Not me, I had hoped in my wildest dreams to be in the playoffs in 2016. Looking forward to many years of continued success from here on out...maybe a run like what Mack has been able to achieve.
