Cashing in some of their starting pitching and prospect depth, the Seattle Monarchs today sent young starting pitcher Josue Folch and A-ball first baseman Dan McBride to Ohio for free-agent-to-be Ronald Quijada.
"We're happy to add Ron to our organization," said Monarchs Owner/GM Mack Shultz. "He's a veteran who knows how to win and, as a hitter, he's always on base. It's an exciting step to bolster our team."
Quijada is expected to become the Monarchs' everyday starter at second base. It is unclear whether Seattle will attempt to resign the star.
