  1. Somehow, I think Nate's going to regret the Guzman signing more than the Kerry one.

  2. Well, I spent forEVER trying to land Gossard but he kept saying, no matter how much I raised the ante, 'that's a good offer but not my favorite'. So I needed to find SOME sort of catcher and shifted to Kerry for my offensive needs.

  3. That is funny because Gossard said the same thing to me before the last 3 sims. That bastard was playing us both. I just figured that you had gone to your max for him and was giving up and he was waiting for your next offer.

If it means anything that was the most that my owner would allow me to pay him. So I could not raise the contract anymore than I gave him. Glad he was happy with it :)

  4. That cockmunch Gossard actually took LESS to sign with you than I offered him.

I'm not upset that I got Kerry. Far from it. But Villatoro and company now know that they get a $100,000 'bonus' for drilling that SOB Goassard.

  5. I used to feel bad for teams that complained when they lost out on a free agent because they signed for less elsewhere, but then the Phillies (in the real world) signed Cliff Lee, and suddenly I understood.

Still, Nate, drill away at Gossard. I won't mind having Villatoro miss a start or two while suspended.

  6. Nate: I offered Palacio more than he took from Jeremy, so I understand the frustration.

I am excited about getting SP Jesus Morales on a one-year, $5 million deal. He's got a VORP of more than 80 over the last two years. Even if he declines this year, he's a heck of a bargain.

  7. Yeah, I looked long and hard at him but decided against. It'll be interesting to see what the three aging lions (Okane, Morales, Shuttleworth) do this year.
