The next ST sim (on Monday night) will take us through the end of the current OOTP week.
After that, there will be one week sims on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.
Finally, a good offseason sim! I finally got the big free agent I needed. Satterlee is going to push Mendoza over to 3B. It's really just a one year, $12m contract. I have no intention of giving him the $24m option in 2019.
I even seemed to get the top guys on my draft list, but the draft is such a crap shoot, anyway.
But, Michael, didn't you kind of shoot yourself in the foot as far as re-signing Cuomo? The option counts against next year's salary room, even if you don't intend to exercise it.
Yeah, there's that risk. There's at least one sim between when I'll decline Satterlee's option and lose Cuomo to free agency, so I'll have some time when I have the fiscal flexibility to resign Cuomo.
The real gamble is if Mr Scorpion, himself, Ricky Peppers declines the mutual option ($20m) and elects free agency. I'm hoping new rings on their fingers will keep Cuomo, and Peppers (I imagine them to be best friends), in Los Angeles for the rest of their careers.
WOW, I did not know one team could get so many 1B in one draft...5 of the 15 player selected for the Steamers in this draft were 1B. Don't really know where I am going to play them all.
At least you got some Pitchers. I wish there was a place you could rank the positions on there, as I would have put SP as number one (as would everyone else), and maybe I would have gotten one no matter how bad they are.
On the bright side, Jeremy, I will be releasing at least four of them when the season starts, so you'll soon have some starting pitchers to choose from.
Yep, not like there was anyone to write home about in this draft. Or maybe my scout can't find anyone with the crap budget I have been able to give him.
Well.
ReplyDeleteI guess SOMEone had some cash left over.

Let's start the season already!

ReplyDeleteTell me about it. I'm backed up at 1B in both leagues.
ReplyDeleteI picked four position players and something like 14 pitchers. That will be ... interesting to sort out.
ReplyDeleteFeh. You know as well as I do that at least half of those kids are already on their way home.
