I know nobody wants to give away their trade secrets, but I was wondering if anyone could/would want to help with the following:
In the draft pool list I have the players sorted by potential (either my scout or OOTP scouting, doesn't matter). But when I click on the player, then click on the Scouting Reports tab, the potential rating (both mine and OSA) are often quite different from what was displayed (and sorted) in the Draft Pool tab. I assume this info is more accurate and current that what is displayed (?). Is there some way to see, or export, the info in the Scouting Report Tab? Or do I really have to click on 837 individual Player Profiles to get the real scouting dope!
I've never figured out why the star ratings in the scouting report tab differ from those on the front player page (and in the tables). I'd love to know the answer.
ReplyDeleteI would imagine it's a bug in OOTP, that is hopefully fixed in newer versions.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, for my draft scouting, I use the ratings on the draft lists, as well as the various stats for hitters and pitchers. When it comes to the first round, I'll take the top 9 (as I pick 9th this season) players as my scout sees them, with an emphasis on hitters/pitchers depending on my whims for the lower minors and input the players into my spreadsheet to build their score, and then rank them that way.
I started doing that for the 2028 draft, when I had the first two picks. It was agonizing balancing my scores for hitters and pitchers (I'm still working on that balance) but since I wanted to build my pitching stable, it was an easy choice to select two pitchers first.
