There may not be much drama left to squeeze out of the regular season, but the Sep. 30 game between Saskatoon and Seattle should be a good one.
Yes, any clash between Chad Nelligan and Demarcus Ramirez is worth the price of admission. But there's greater significance to this game - Nelligan is going for win number 29, which would set a new single-season record.
And that, of course, would break the current record of 28 wins - set by none other than Ramirez in 2009.
Hmmm. Maybe I will have to roll out my starting position players for this game, as opposed to the Monarchs' B Squad.

I'm giving in and rolling out my starting line-up. If somebody gets hurt, I'll be pissed, but I can't give less than my best effort to get 29 wins for Nelligan.
ReplyDeleteI'll also note that The Chad will finish the season with only 36 starts, as opposed to 38 for Demarcus in his 28 win campaign.
Which would mean that Ramirez's 2009 would still be the more outstanding season, of course. Wins being a function of offensive production and whatnot.
