The game shown on the website is from 2010, when Frau was my #3 starter. He's not even in the rotation this year, so I think it's fair to say the website is misleading. I'll see what the game file shows.
If you download the game file, the real Game 3 is in there. The Monarchs won 2-1. The Monarchs scored their two runs in the bottom of the seventh with a one-out single by Cedeno, a steal of second by pinch runner Rossetti, an RBI single by catcher Raabe who advanced to second on the throw home, and a two-out pinch hit single by Machen.
River Cities scored with a leadoff home run in the ninth by Valdes. Suarez singled with one out, but the threat ended with a 5-4-3 double play from Marzano.
River Cities tallied only five hits and Seattle just six in the pitchers' duel. Valdes's home run was the only extra base hit. Hester picked up the win and game MVP honors with seven innings of shutout ball with 2 hits, 2 walks, and 8 strikeouts.
Ummm, I think River Cities won this one, Zev.
ReplyDeleteYeah, looks that way to me, too. You playing in some sort of alternate 'genetically enhanced spider' universe, Zev?
