Cleveland could easily be leading that series 3-0. The Sternwheelers need to wake up soon, or risk an early dismissal from the playoffs for the second year in a row.
Meanwhile, I feel like the Hickory series has come down to whether the Monarchs hitters show up or not. So far, they have twice.
Ooh, that's frustrating. $7M in the offseason for Willie Sewell for the express purpose of preserving a one-run lead with two outs in the 7th, and then that.
Notably, all three playoff days have seen one favorite win and one favorite lose. I guess that means I have extra incentive to root for Jeremy in Game 4. (grin)
With a 2-1 lead, the improved Joseph Macaluso gets to take the hill for Seattle in Game 4, letting Placencia, Hester, and Cohen start as needed on full rest. He had some bad performances in last year's playoffs to erase. He was bad in 2012 too. Redemption time!
Also moving Duane Gerhardt up in the order, as he's hitting well and stealing bases.
The aforementioned Sean Arant has six rings, including two with the Los Angeles franchise, and one last season with Seattle, which is many more rings than anyone on the River Cities team has earned.
Two tight one-run affairs.

ReplyDeleteGah.
I thought that's what you took Beeks for, Frank.
ReplyDeleteAnd these are some tight fought games. That blip with starting Miller might be truly painful.

Time will tell if Seattle misses Sean Arant....
ReplyDeleteI think time has already told that Los Angeles misses the playoffs. Is anyone even ON that team who can remember what winning was like?
