Congratulations to Mack, and to longtime Husker Dong Lutz for earning his first ring in an increasingly distinguished career. It couldn't have happened to a guy with a more ludicrous name.
So when does the offseason start? I am extremely curious to see how this is all going to play out. I'm guessing we're going to see at least three deep-pocketed teams competing for Mr. Lutz's services. How will Cleveland reload? What will our new owner do to restore glory to the Canadian provinces? Will Lassie rescue little Timmy from the old abandoned mine?
At least you went with the Lassie old abandoned mine reference, most people go for the falling down the well version that never actually happened. I don't know if the mine one happened, but I like people that mix it up.
It was another not so close game that really sums up the series well. Lots of blowouts alternating. Guess my team just could not win 2 in a row the entire month. I just wanted one 2 game winning streak is that too much to ask.
Congrats Mack, I am ready for the offseason, if just to see what Lutz is going to end up getting, I think he is worth it guys.
Congratulations to Jeremy on one heck of a series. The formerly scrapheap Cleveland Steamers went 7-7 against two teams that won 109 games each in the regular season. That's a pretty good accomplishment, even if it didn't end with a trophy.
I have to admit that it's pretty nice to pass Michael's mark for dominance and claim a fifth championship. When I was getting my brains beaten in Cecil-Cup-after-Cecil-Cup by Michael and then Nate, it seemed like Seattle was never going to be able to claim a title.
And my best wishes go out to Dong Lutz. May you reap a ridiculous contract that severely hampers whichever franchise steals your services away from me.
Zev, might you be able to chop up the sims a bit early in the offseason so I get a chance to try and re-sign any impending free agents? I'm downloading the game now and then can see if there even are any on Saskatoon; if there aren't I wouldn't want to hold the rest of the league up and delay excitement of Mr. Dong Lutz's contract negotiations.
One for the thumb, eh, Mack? Congratulations, I guess I'll have to win one now.
ReplyDeleteDong Lutz: Please pick up the red and black courtesy phone.

Tune in... Thursday night?

You're going to be insufferable after this, aren't you?
ReplyDeleteHe does have both trophies at once...what do you think?
ReplyDeleteThe answer to Nate's question is that he will be "even more" insufferable. ;)
ReplyDeleteAs if it's possible for me to be more insufferable than I already am.
ReplyDeleteI was just looking back at my 2 series in the playoffs, and I laugh to see how similar results can occur from 2 vastly different series.
ReplyDeleteThe first just about all of the games came down to the last inning or even at-bat, while the second series, all the games were blowouts.
Both ended 4-3 though so same results, different paths.
So, Zev, any ideas yet about what we can expect for scheduled offseason sims?
ReplyDeleteI think if you advance the game one more day (to October 27), we will get new budgets and new scouting reports. Looking forward to both!
What would you have done Zev, if I somehow won, I don't think I have a snazzy logo...
ReplyDeleteI'm not really sure I want to see the Cleveland Steamers logo.
ReplyDeleteAmen to that.
