  1. I'd like to note for the record Seattle's 18-game winning streak from August 8-26. Hell of a run. Some stats:

Runs scored: 108 (6.00 runs per game)
Runs allowed: 46 (2.56 runs per game)

    Number of Shutouts: one
Number of games with one run allowed: six
Number of games with two runs allowed: five
Number of games with three runs allowed: three
Number of games with four or more runs allowed: three

Amazing run by the Monarchs' pitching staff. They gave up exactly one run in the last five games.

(Then, of course, my entire starting outfield got hurt and I imagine it was difficult to pitch well with an infielder trying to chase down fly balls. Such is life in this league.)

  2. Very nice run Mack, I hope your team has not peaked too soon...

  3. As the only other owner to have won four Cecil Cups, and the only one to have won four consecutive Cups, I sincerely hope that Seattle has peaked too soon.

But, nicely done, Mack. Is that better than my September/October 2005 run, though?

  4. For what it's worth, I think my team peaked a year or two ago. I'm fairly surprised to have the best record in the league right now after losing Lutz and Kerry in the offseason as well as four starting position players to injuries.

And, I wouldn't place this as the greatest streak ever by a team, but it was very surprising to me and it may be one of the best streaks of pitching ever.

  5. I don't know if you can say your team peaked a few seasons ago or not, have not really be paying that close attention to your team (I have been concentrating on making mine better, which has been a full time job). But I think can say you have refocused your top players. While they were offensive a few seasons ago, now pitching is the key to your success. You do have one of the best pitching staffs that I have ever seen with 7 pitchers at 4.5* or better (according to my scout) and the rest being at the 3.5*/4* level which is better than most teams have in this league. Ultimately it is about your team being better than the others in the league, not just dominating.

And Cedeno was just out for a week or two, he will be back early next sim. At least that one was not season ending, he is having a great season.

You are definably on pace to win about 107 games (which I guess is the 119 of 2013 or 125 of 2011, but still a solid team. And it show that a great team is still great when they are 'post peak'.
