Injuries:
Brooklyn OF Cornelius Bondy will miss about three weeks with a damaged meniscus
Houston 2B Billy Cremeans fractured his ankle and will be out for about 2-3 months.
Brooklyn MR Xavier Portillo will miss 2-3 months with a torn back muscle.

News:
Hickory's Paul Shunk wins Player of the Week (5/8)
Maui LF Robert Estill wins Player of the Week (5/15)
Seattle and Danville executed a trade -- one of them will post about it shortly.

Milestones:
Hickory's Paul Shunk hit both his 300th home run and drove in his 1000th run in the same game on 5/7.

  1. My team is odd. I'm first in extra base hits, but well below average in nearly every other offensive stat, despite four of my starters having OPS above 850, and four more above 730.

    The rotation is pretty solid, at least by my recent standards (Oh, where are you, Troy Nelson, Craig Barmore, Casey Plunk?) but my bullpen is a mess. Oddly, my bullpen ERA is lower than my starting ERA.

    Anyway, I'm looking to move 1B Soriano for relief help. See the blog entry above this one.

  2. 10-4 Sim. No injuries in the entire organization. [Knocking on wood.] Good stuff. On May 7, Eugene Alustiza swatted a walk-off grand slam to lead the Monarchs to a 8-4 win over Houston. Nice clutch hitting there.

    It's a very weird year with the three divisions. All four Adams teams above .500 and the "bottom" teams in the Zotti League are each 20-22. But the new division, ugh.
