As for the draft -- there's good news and bad news.
The good news is that the game added enough players for us to have a full draft.
The bad news is that all the players are college-aged (21-22).
It seems that if we have a college feeder league, all of our amateur draft picks will be in that age range. If we add a high school feeder league, we'll get some 18-19 year olds as well.
So, at this point, we have a few options:
1. Leave things as they are and only use college aged players
2. Add a high school feeder league.
3. Eliminate the college feeder league
4. Anything else you might care to suggest.
The floor is open for discussion.
Next sim -- Wednesday night.

I say we add a high school feeder league. There's no reason not to add one, is there?
ReplyDeleteAnd, with Dinwiddie returning as my LOOGY, my 25 man roster is pretty much set, injuries and future trades (Get yer Bill Turek! Cheap!) withstanding.
I'd just like to point out that Ramos is a 4 year deal and the last is an option year. I did NOT pay $17MM per year for a closer.
ReplyDeleteNate, I was going to say that much for a closer not named Junior...what were you thinking :)
ReplyDeleteAs for the feeder leagues, I remember saying that we should have multiple leagues to begin with so I am definatly for a high-school league.
oh, and I like using the term 'takes his' for Gregorio and I think that you should have finished the term with 'talents' a la LeBron.
ReplyDeleteRegardless of what you call it, the Seattle Monarchs are thrilled to allow Mr. Marzano to demonstrate his talents in Seattle.
ReplyDeleteOther than the obviously brilliant signing of Marzano, I like the Orozco signing. He's no ace, but he seems like a solid and dependable starter and I was puzzled he didn't get much in the way of free agent action.
Another vote for adding a high school feeder league.
ReplyDeleteI'm good with a HS feeder league too, although I don't feel strongly either way.
ReplyDeleteOf course, with Diehl gone, Orozco may end up being my ace....
ReplyDeleteI'm also in favor of the HS feeder league.
