Seattle, Saskatoon Tie Up Serieses

Christopher Hester pitched eight innings of three-run ball and hit an RBI double to lead the Seattle Monarchs to a 5-3 victory over the Maui Mashers.

Over in River Cities,  the Saskatoon Amigos beat the Sternwheelers 7-2 behind a complete game by
Demarcus Ramirez and RF Brian Frison's triple, home run and 4 RBI.

Game 3:  Monday night.

  1. So the Saskatoon/River Cities tilt is tied at 1. It's also tied at 9. That's the number of runs each team has scored so far. Pretty even!

  2. Three runs over eight innings doesn't really sound like great starting pitching. But, Hester gave up three runs on three hits in the first inning. He then retired 18 in a row and went the final 7.1 innings without giving up another hit. Kept the Monarchs alive until a pinch-hit, two-run single by Paulino Reyes put Seattle ahead 5-3 in the bottom of the eighth inning.

So, we rescued one of the two home games. The series now shifts to the beautiful climate of Maui for the next three.
