OK, well, my last offer to Grondin was six years, $150M, and apparently Michael has bettered that. I'm out.
Hickory is officially looking for a trade, folks. Whattaya say? We've got cash burning a hole in our collective pocket, a shiny first round draft pick, and who knows what else with which to work. Looking for an offensive upgrade at 2B, C, or CF (especially CF). Willing to take on an unpleasant contract in the right deal. Any takers?
Yeah, my offer is more than 6/150. Thanks for playing!
There were some notable retirements as the calendar flipped to 2019. Of note to me was one-time stud 2B Bill Turek, who came up in my organization, was traded away, and then came back to be successful again, until I (wisely) traded him before his skills fell off a cliff. I actually had offered him a major-league contract to be a backup 1B/2B this season that he left on the table when he chose to retire.
