  1. Zev and Michael: You're behaving terribly to poor Lawrence Fenster (Larry to his friends).

Zev claims him off waivers from me on October 11. Larry is happy, because maybe this means he will finally be able to play in the major leagues, rather than stuck in AAA.

Zev adds him to the 40-man roster on October 29. Hurray for Larry!

On the same day, Zev then releases him. Larry is now lower than a kicked puppy. He's got to fight to find a team in free agency that loves him, and as a once-waived, once-released player in a sea of talent, that will likely be difficult.

Then, on Christmas day, Larry gets the best present of all: a $490,000 major league contract from Michael. Sure, the team is moving to some hellhole in Pennsylvania, but it's a major league team. Larry is again happy. Despite all the stress, and over the holidays no less, everything has worked out.

On December 31, Larry is added to the LA Scorpions' 40-man roster. Just like his agent said. Hurray again for Larry.

On the same day, Michael then cruelly designates him for assignment and places Larry on waivers. Oh no! It's happening again! Larry now enters a dark place filled with cheap drink and questionable decision-making. It's a bad New Year's Eve for Larry.

On January 18, Larry gets a call from his agent. It must be! A team has claimed him off waivers! Larry will get to play in the major leagues after all! Larry is happy.

But then the agent keeps talking. He says that Brooklyn has claimed him. Again. After releasing Larry just three months ago.

Now, Larry doesn't know what to think. Is this a cruel joke? Is it a horrible experiment designed by Randolph and Mortimer Duke? Why is this happening to him? Larry is a good person. He does not deserve this turmoil.

    Please, stop torturing poor Larry.

  2. Fenster got DFAd due to a CF roster crunch, with him, Mendonca, and Suarez all signing (I was hoping that only two would, at most). I was hoping to sneak him through to AAA, but Zev has a thing for him, apparently.

  3. Don't pretend this wasn't personal, Michael. Larry knows better.

  4. Larry does get the $490,000 guaranteed, though. That's got to count for something.
