It's kind of wild that the four best records are all in the Zotti Division.
ReplyDeleteThis isn't the first time, Mack, as I'm sure you know.
DeleteI went through each team's record and calculated its record against the Zotti Division and against the other 8 teams who are lucky enough to play in the Adams or Signorino divisions:
Team Division vs Zotti vs Other
HGH Adams 6-20 20-24
ATL Adams 7-16 23-16
MEP Adams 9-17 26-16
BRK Adams 9-18 17-27
NOR Signorino 10-14 21-26
MAU Signorino 10-16 23-21
HOU Signorino 13-14 20-24
AV Signorino 9-18 27-17
SEA Zotti 10-8 39-14
BRI Zotti 13-5 33-21
APP Zotti 5-13 33-18
SHK Zotti 8-10 31-22
(Sorry for the formatting -- I'm too tired to do the proper HTML table.)
Seattle and Brick are the only two teams with wining records against the Zotti Division. Many teams would have winning records if they didn't have to play the Appalachian Valley, Brick, Seattle, and Shackamaxon juggernauts.
I know I'm biased, but I really think we should re-discuss either expanding the playoffs or re-aligning the divisions. My team is currently 7 games out of the wild card spot, but is still 1.5 games up on the best non-Zotti division team.
If I have more time this week I'll go back and look at trends since we switched to 3 divisions, but I believe only once has the Wild Card team not come from the Zotti Division.
