OK, since we have some new people and we're using a new version, and since Yahoo! seems to have fixed whatever problem they were having, I suppose now is as good a time as any to go through the schedule for the offseason.
The current game date is 11/16/2013. The "game date" schedule for major events is as follows:
12/6 Winter Meetings start
12/10 Winter Meetings end
1/30 First year player pool published
3/1 First year player draft
3/2 Spring Training
4/1 2014 season starts
So, what does that mean for the league in real-world time?
It means that later tonight (I'll try to push it off until after midnight), I'll be simming the game to 12/1. On Monday, I'll sim the game another two weeks. I'll try to get in three to four sims a week of two weeks each until we hit the draft. On each sim, you can make offers to free agents or other personnel. You can also make trades of course.
On a side note, I did notice that the Rule 5 draft is not enabled and, for some odd reason, cannot be enabled. I'm going to look into that further.

Zev: If you don't want to wait until late tonight, I can do the sim at about 10pm PDT (1am EDT). Just let me know.
ReplyDeleteIs that how FA works? I've only been through one but I thought we, in the OEL, had to limit our sims to a few days each.
ReplyDeleteNate: Zev's plan is, based on what I've seen on the OOTP forums, not uncommon for getting through the offseason. The OEL's experience with the abbreviated offseason didn't really correlate, for a variety of reasons.
ReplyDeleteEverything is uploaded and ready to go. Let see how hard the FAs laugh at our offers. GL everyone.
