The Cleveland Steamers tied their playoff series with the Seattle Monarchs at two games apiece with a 4-2 victory. Cleveland scored first in the fifth with a home run off a solo homer. Seattle struck back with two in the bottom of the inning on a Richard Bender double and a Jaime Cruz RBI groundout. Cleveland responded with two more runs on a Monte Goss single and a William Midkiff single. Cleveland added an insurance run in the 8th on another Midkiff single.

The Saskatoon Amigos took a 3 games to 1 lead against Maui with an 8-0 shutout. Saskatoon starter Thomas Cohen was dominating, allowing seven hits and striking out ten while throwing eight shutout innings. Brian Frison and Rufus Murray both hit home runs for Saskatoon in the victory.

ReplyDeleteSo it looks like the gamble with Turner paid off, now we will see if Kaler can do his magic in game 5 and give me the chance to pull a '99 Yankees on Mack. (Oh how I hate the '99 Yankees and what they did to my Braves)
It is comforting to see that my playoff futility is not limited to the OEL. I fear change.

All I know is, I was rooting for the Steamers until Jeremy revealed that he's a real-life Braves fan. Now? Go Monarchs!
