Congratulations Mack!!!

  1. Congratulations Mack!!!! The best pitching did it again, along with some decent batting to boot.

I have to say, I like the Saskatoon Amigos logo for 2015, nice one Zev. I guess I should change the name of my franchise before I win one (if I ever do), I am not sure I want to see a Cleveland Steamers logo.

  2. It's good to be home again. I found the end of last season, when I didn't even play for the Cecil Cup, to be strange and disorienting. :)

This was the most competitive season the league has had in a while. Cleveland and Maui had their best seasons ever, before being upset in the first round of the playoffs. And Saskatoon proved last year's title was no fluke. This was a really good year for the league, I thought.

I'd like to credit the pitching staff for the championship, and they certainly carried me through the regular season, but the Monarchs offense is what won the title. I was convinced going into the season that I had a really good offense but a lot of players didn't hit like I thought they would. In the playoffs though, the guys I thought underpeformed really came through. In the 12 playoff games, Granado had a 1.046 OPS with five home runs, 10 runs scored, and 13 RBI. Cedeno had a 1.047 OPS with six home runs, 15 runs scored, and 11 RBI. Kerry led the way with a 1.099 OPS, six home runs, 8 runs scored, and 16 RBI. Those three guys, the heart of the Monarchs' order, were the reason that I'll be getting the trophy back from Eric.

I really don't think I had the best team this year. But, since I've lost titles before when I did think I had the best team, I'll take it. (grin)
