I just noticed, while setting a lineup for the new season, that you can have non-pitchers bat 9th. So, since I don't expect to compete next season, I've decided to go LaRussa-style and bat my pitcher 8th.

Oh, I kicked the tires on Turner, too, but my offer wasn't better than Hickory's. Six years for a pitcher? Good thing this isn't real baseball with real money.
Well, it would only take him until he's 34, I think. I offered six years, too, but the last one was a mutual option. I topped out at 14.5MM and it looks like Hickory went for 16MM per. Ouch.
ReplyDeleteTurner was defiantly a valued member of the Steamer organization for the last season and a half. I had only expected to get him for the end of 2015 and got a pleasant surprise when I got him for all of 2016. I wish that I could have kept him, but my finances would not let it happen, and I have Goss, Grondin and Kaler going tot he FA market in the next few seasons, and I have to keep at least one of those guys. I hope Turner performs for you Frank, I am a big fan of him.
