Postseason sim - LCS Game 6

Just one game tonight: Hickory at Seattle. Gaddy vs Turner. David vs. Goliath.

Most baseball games are about nine innings. This game was just about one, the tenth, as nothing of note happened in the first nine innings. For Seattle, James Turner gave up no runs through nine, while a trio of Huskers (Gordon Gaddy, Colt Allen, and Julio Delvalle) shutout the Monarchs through nine.

In the tenth, this game ended. James Turner pitched a clean inning, his tenth shutout inning of the game, before he was pinch hit for in the bottom of the 10th by Salvador Barrera. Ivan Castillo led off the bottom of the tenth with a single, and Barrera hit a two-run home run to win the game, 2-0. And, more importantly, tie the series at three wins apiece.

Game Seven will be tomorrow night. Game One of the Cecil Cup will be on Saturday night, as the rested Wolves of Brooklyn await the victor of Seattle/Hickory.

Stay tuned, baseball fans!

  1. I think this was the single least likely possible outcome. Both of these outstanding offenses shut out through nine innings? Pinch hit two-run home run by an all-defense utility infielder? There's just no way that happened.
